WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE BUTTERFLY?

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

GREETINGS FROM CHEROKEE, NORTH CAROLINA! Well this Butterfly has officially decided when I'm going back to St. Louis. Since next week is the 95th Annual Cherokee Fall Festival, I've decided to stay all next week and head back on Sunday, October 7th. The Festival is the first week of October every year and lasts for nearly a week at the ceremonial grounds. The celebration includes locally handcrafted artwork, crafts, agricultural items, traditional music, dance and Cherokee food items. (Yummy yummy in my tummy!) The crafts include works in stone, wood sculpture, bead work and basket weaving.

Indian crafts that are considered "truly Cherokee" are: double wall basketry, clay pottery, gourd art and river cane art as we Cherokee are mountain and river people. Many of my family members here in Cherokee are talented artists who have their work displayed and sold in the many craft shops on the reservation. From hand cut bead work, painting, wood and/or rock sculpting, pottery, and the above listed "truly" Cherokee art. My nephew Darren is a gifted painter and potter so I'm going to hang out with him before I leave and watch him work. I have other kin who are well known potters (The Maney's) here on the Rez as well. My sister Ahinawake's husband Dave is also an amazing artist and speaks fluent Cherokee. My mom and other kin (aunts/cousins) do fantabulous beadwork and I have been gifted to work well with leather and make my own purses and moccasins. I'm a well worn shoe-freak and you just can't have enough moccasins in my neck of the woods.

I'm hoping before I leave for home that I will be able to go with my cousin Leonard on one of his 10-mile nocturnal mountain man hikes. Leonard heads out about 8:00 PM at night and walks all night until about 6:00 or 7:00 AM. This is the Great Smokey Mountains and there are definitely black bears out there that make their way down to the Rez every now and then to scavenge. Bear is "yona" in Cherokee. Needless to say, I'm fairly excited about doing the nocturnal hike with Leonard because it's an opportunity that I just have to experience.

Maybe by the time I write to you again on Monday I will have that hiking experience under my native belt. In the meantime, I'll be around and online as much as I usually am. Believe me folks, nothing changes when I'm away from home because home happens to be where I hang my hat today. That is just my Butterfly and Crow Medicine nature. If for some reason I have not returned your call (because I do believe I have returned all the calls) then just pop me an e-mail with your phone number and I'll ring you. Believe me folks, this Gemini is not one who can be interrupted. Let's just get you taken care of so you can get on with your Life and back on your spiritual progression path. I'm here . . .

QUACK APPROVED WITH A CAWFIRMATION!

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

GREETINGS FROM CHEROKEE, NORTH CAROLINA! Yesterday afternoon I was at the coffee shop "Tribal Grounds" writing your daily horoscope when I went out on the deck that looks over the Oconaluftee River. Oconaluftee (Eg-wa-nu-l'ti) means "beside the river" because it runs through the Great Smokey Mountains and right through the middle of Cherokee.

As I was standing on the deck overlooking the river with a nearly 90 degree steep mountain on the other side of the river staring me in the face, more ducks than I could count started appearing one after the other. As I started counting the Duck Medicine I intuited that I was suppose to call a girlfriend of mine who is in the process of taking herself through the exact same transformation that I took myself through when I decided to close my clinic and pursue the Life that I live right now. She too is in healthcare and has decided to take her knowledge and experience to another level and also decided to close her clinic. I'm so excited for her because I'm living proof that it can be accomplished. You go girl!!!

As we were chatting on the phone regarding her transformation experience thus far, we started giggling about the ducks quacking in the background. We couldn't stop giggling because they were interrupting our conversation and it was clear they wanted us to know something. Since we both heard the Duck Medicine, the message was for both of us, which is - Protection, Nurture and Introspection. Duck Medicine showed up in full support and quack approved (75 of them when I stopped counting) to let us know that while protection and nurturing was all around us, we also needed to be introspective as well. Those who experience Native American Animal Medicine are named for the animal that comes before them, in this case we would be called, "Duck People". She is Duck People and I am Duck People. Sounds plural but it is singular, "Duck People". We deduced that Duck Medicine was impacting both of us in different areas of our Life but the message was the same.

Duck Medicine means:
Protection, Nurture, Introspection

Then suddenly Crow Medicine revealed himself through his loud and bold cawing as we started giggling again. Crow People are shape-shifters meaning they can change their shape and be in two places at once. Crow Medicine is one of my totems, meaning it is the Animal Medicine that I feel particularly close to and that I respect. Crow Medicine comes to me quite often as it continually encourages me that I am quite capable of being in two places at once. I am talking to you right now through the website, while off playing somewhere else. I can talk to you through a radio show and talk to you through my book. I can talk to you on the phone and still be talking to other people through this website. I can be in the Treat Yourself Special e-Course program with an e-Course student and still be talking to others through their Natal Chart. Folks, I am a shape-shifter and it is what I was born to do. Since my girlfriend also heard Crow Medicine at the other end of the telephone and knowing what she is preparing to do with her Life, the Crow Medicine was meant for her as well. So I shared with her the meaning of Crow Medicine with a triple capital "C" for Crow, Caw and Confirmation! In my world I prefer to call this, "Cawfirmation!" when I hear Crow Medicine.

Crow Medicine means:
Bending Law, Mission, Intuition

Crow Medicine continually reminds me that I am in the right place at the right time and that I can do even more. Just a few minutes ago I went out on the deck again because I heard Crow Medicine cawing me once again. Crow Medicine landed on a rock not six feet from me on the river bank, then came two more, then came three more and they started multiplying like the Duck Medicine multiplied yesterday. I thought I was in a scene from "The Birds" for a minute there, only this Crow Medicine was tamed, friendly, full of wisdom and experience. I just smiled and said outloud, "I hear you cawing me. I'm here. Tell me what to do next. I'm listening."

Folks, I realize that I have more Animal Medicine to upload on this website which I have already written, and I will start uploading these animals tomorrow. As Crow Medicine was looking right at me I intuitively heard Crow say, "Loretta, it's time to bend the law again and shape shift. Your mission depends on it."

Oh, about that 90 degree steep mountain that was staring me in the face? (Pictured below on the Oconaluftee River) I've moved mountains before and I know for a fact that I can do it again. (winky wink)

DON'T TELL ME YOU CAN'T DO IT!

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

GREETINGS FROM CHEROKEE, NORTH CAROLINA! Folks, don't tell me that you can't do it! Tell me anything, but don't tell me you can't do it, whatever IT is.

For every person that tells me that they can't do IT or who "yeah but's" a suggestion, I can give you ten people who did. I am more clear than ever why I had to walk my spiritual progression path in the way that I did even as painful as it was. If I didn't "choose" to walk my path (because it was a choice folks) then I know that I wouldn't be able to relate to you. Further, you wouldn't be reading this page right now. If I say to you, "I know how you feel," then you can take it to the bank that I really do know how you feel. I could have used no money, no friends, no knowledge of how to build a website, the feeling of having no Love in my Life and or the feeling that no one cared what happened to me as an excuse why I couldn't be ME! I could have used the excuse that someone else was blocking my abundance or ability to get ahead. I could have laid the drama on thick, heavy and pitiful why I couldn't do it and they would have all been lame excuses for not pushing at the Universe in order to make something big, bold, loud and wonderful happen in my Life.

Here's a bold statement! No one and I mean no one should be more responsible for your livelihood, self-worth and happiness than you. That would be blatantly unfair and irresponsible to put all of that on someone else. To make anyone but yourself responsible for your happiness is just outlandish folks! You say who, when, why, where and how much! If you agree to anything less than what you desire out of Life, that is your choice. It is a choice. If you settle into a relationship that is filled with anything but Love, that is your choice. If you settle into an unsatisfying career when you know you want bigger, better and more, that too is your choice. If you continue to unconsciously spend money while you are in debt, that is a choice. What if you said, "NO!" to anything that does not bring you happiness or that makes you miserable? What if you said, "NO," - now what are your options? Everything else is an option and that's huge! Everything but that one person, place or thing that doesn't feel Good is an option. How cool is that?!?

You do not have to wait until you are miserable enough to change your circumstances, but if that's what you need to do in order to change . . then okay, but it just doesn't have to look that way. I'm down here in Cherokee, North Carolina surrounded by the Great Smokey Mountains with sporadic cellular and Blackberry service. My emergency PC card doesn't work in certain areas and none of this has stopped me from doing readings, health consultations or retrieving your messages and e-mails. I've been uploading this website from a coffee shop, various hotel parking lots who have free wireless internet, my sister Ahinawake's house and even the Arby's parking lot. Yeah, even Arby's has wireless here on the Rez. I've even managed to send out your daily horoscopes a day early. Folks, for Pete's Sake . . tell me anything but don't tell me you can't do it.

FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

GREETINGS FROM CHEROKEE, NORTH CAROLINA! Remember the other day when I told you that it would be hard pressed to go anywhere here on the Rez and not run into a family member? Well yesterday I was in this wonderful coffee shop called, "Tribal Grounds" (cute name huh) and ran into my niece (Sky). About an hour later in came my cousin (Cynthia). As Cynthia came walking up to me she looked over at this guy who was sitting at the table next to me and said, "Hey Kody!" Then she said, "Kody this is my cousin Loretta; Loretta, this is my cousin Kody." Kody is her 1st cousin on her dad's side of the family and I am her 1st cousin on her mom's side of the family. My mom and Cynthia's mom are sisters. Cynthia's dad and Kody's dad are brothers.

When Cynthia told me which uncle's son he was I said, "Oh hey, your dad was in here about an hour ago." I had just been up at Kody's dad's house two days ago who makes THE MOST awesome canoes I have ever seen. I mean John (Kody's dad) makes the original 'native canoe.' You should have seen this canoe he was in the midst of making! He makes canoes out of one big ol' mega-mondo tree so I was chatting with John about making me a canoe next spring when it's time to start fishing and canoeing again. John is currently making two canoes for two museums. I even woke up the next morning thinking about that canoe! I can just see me canoeing and fishing with my grandson Big Tree in my real "native canoe" and then one day passing the canoe on to Big Tree with all our memories tucked inside of it. Ah, floating on the river like a butterfly on the wind. It just brings tears to my eyes. The float, the glide, the quiet, the wind, the grace, the connection, the whisper . . .

I still don't know why I'm still here past jury duty and I still don't feel compelled to go back to St. Louis just yet. In the meantime, since my Lifestyle allows me the freedom to float like a butterfly wherever the wind takes me, I'll just quietly and gracefully float along and curiously see what happens.

DON'T TRY THAT AT HOME!

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

GREETINGS FROM CHEROKEE, NORTH CAROLINA! Okay, my DLG (Download from God) this morning said, "Get back Loretta!" Then I heard a few lines from The Beatles, "Get Back." . . . "Wearing her high-heel shoes and her low-neck sweater, get back home Loretta!" Still, I went ahead and went over to mom and dad's anyway with, "Get Back" playing out in my head when suddenly it all clicked. Within seconds of arriving at my parents house I knew that hanging out with mom and dad during a Pisces Moon was not the best move on my part. I knew it didn't mean get my rear end back home to St. Louis, it just meant don't hang out with the parents today or tomorrow for that matter while there is a Pisces Moon.

As you may recall in yesterday's Daily Message I was going to spend the day helping my dad build his mini-barn. Well my South Node is in Pisces and my dad is Pisces and my mom is Pisces Rising. So there ya' go. It took all of about five minutes to change my game plan once I kept hearing, "Get back home Loretta," and God Bless my parents, they understand when I feel that intuitive need to retreat into my Cancer Rising shell. I felt a strong need to pull a Pisces Houdini Act (The Great Escape like a slippery little fish) and told my parents that I'll be back around on Wednesday. They get me when I need to retreat and explain that its a lunar thing. Dad doesn't get the whole astrological thing but respects my intense intuition when I receive a DLG (Download from God). Mom on the other hand understands the astrological influences plus my intuition. So it all worked out quickly and without any silly drama. Funny I just hung up the telephone with "H" (Henrietta, the Virgo in L.A.) and she was wondering why I was planning on helping out with the mini-barn when there is a Moon in Pisces. Then she laughed at me like she always does. I can always count on my Good friend "H" to share a 'making-fun-at-you' laugh.

Folks, whenever I say something that stupid again like I did yesterday about plunking down with a ton of Pisces energy, when the Moon is in Pisces and when I have a South Node in Pisces, then just ignore me and don't try that at home. (winky wink)

STILL ON THE REZ!

AudioOsda Sunalei [Good Morning in Cherokee]

GREETINGS FROM CHEROKEE, NORTH CAROLINA! Well, I am still here on the Cherokee Indian Reservation and have not yet made any plans to leave. Although I miss my grandson Big Tree and my daughter Karmen terribly. It's probably just a distance thing because it has only been a week since I have seen them. I guess I'm use to seeing Karmen and Big Tree like everyone is use to seeing other family members here on the Rez. I can walk across the street from my parents and see my sister Ahinawake. Or walk next door and see my Aunt Joyce (mom's sister) or walk further up and see my Uncle George (mom's brother) and the list goes on and on. I always stay at my Aunt Jackie's (mom's other sister) because that's just what I've always done. Maybe because she's fiesty like myself.

I've decided to stick around and help my dad build a barn. It's really like a mini-barn that will house his toys (sports car and motorcycle). You know how those big boys can get with their toys. (winky wink) The trade-off is he has to take me trout fishing but actually that's in their backyard because the river runs right past their house and that is some ice cold mountain water. Wooooo! I don't know how the fish stand that cold water. Well dad is a Pisces and the next two days will be great fishing with a Pisces. I told him that we can catch the fish as they swim backward in the opposite direction since the fish will be indecisive as all get out with the Pisces Moon and I can probably just catch them with a net. He was unamused. Hmmmm . . I need to remember that I have a South Node in Pisces. HA! When will I ever learn?

Right now I'm mentating on when I will post Daily Messages since I have started posting daily horoscopes a day early. I suppose I will still write the Daily Messages in the mornings because that's when I receive my DLG (Download from God) through hearing music in my head and I enjoy telling you stories. Then I will probably post that Daily Message when I am ready to send out the daily horoscopes in the afternoon or early evening so it will still be posted 24 hours before the next one. Feel free to use the phone number at the top of this website if you need to call. Especially if you have a long winded health question because its easier to chat about it rather than sending 8 billion e-mails back and forth to each other. If you leave a message, make certain that you leave your time zone otherwise I could be calling you back when you are in bed. If you live outside of the U.S., then you will need to call me back or e-mail and I will give you a specific time to call me. All Natal Charts ordered are still e-mailed within 24 hours of ordering although I typically provide same day service. I'm just like that! All readings and health consults are still scheduled as usual, just make certain you give me a few preferred times in the message box of your order form. Also, please note that I will only hold a time slot when I receive the order form. THE BRAIN DUMP

AudioOsda Sunalei [Good Morning in Cherokee]

Some of the most laughable moments I have with my daughter is when she's having a bad day. Now wait a minute, it isn't as bad as that statement sounded. This isn't referring to grief, devastation or loss, I'm just referring to a bad day. Karmen (Leo) and I (Gemini) have this gift of staring a bad day in the face and searching for the laughter and the Good in it. Instead of blowing it up into a pitiful dramatic experience, we end up laughing so hard we start crying. "H" (Henrietta, the Virgo) and I have the same type of bizarre relationship. I can't tell you how many times I have called "H" sitting in a bad moment only to hear a belly laugh on the other end of the phone as a response to the story I just shared. That's because we know each other very well and what is going on in each other's Life; therefore, we recognize the lesson quickly. If the lesson had to show up that way in order for me to get it, then okay. Keep in mind the key word here is "moment". That bad "moment" will last as long as we say it will.

Karmen had the luxury of seeing me go through school in a clinical atmosphere and now that she is in clinicals (nursing school), I get to watch her. Karmen called yesterday to tell me all about her bad day when one bad thing kept happening after the other. We fell out laughing when she said, "Tell me about your first biochemistry test again." This story always makes her feel better even if it is at my expense. (winky wink)

Folks, that was a bad day! It was a hugely embarrassing day. I studied so hard but when the test came, I knew nothing. Grades were always posted beside our student number so that no one else knew our grade. Everyone was gathered around the wall looking for their grade when I heard everyone laughing and saying, "Who is that? Who got a 13! Someone got a 13!" I muscled my way through the crowd and saw it . . it was me! I had gotten a 13 out of 100 on my first biochemistry test. I studied like I had Biochemistry OCD for this test and got a 13!!! Thank God I have a cold Capricorn Moon because I just acted like it wasn't me. Devastated beyond belief I called my boyfriend at the time, who is an Anesthesiologist, and told him about my grade. Well being an Anesthesiologist, his entire M.D. career is based on biochemistry. Heck, he's even published in chemistry! He said, "Loretta there is an underlying given in the sciences. You will either be Good in physics or chemistry, but not both. I happened to be Good in chemistry and you are Good in physics. I had to give it everything I had in physics and you will likely have to do the same in chemistry." I said, "Well, I have to at least pass the class and 13's aren't going to cut it." I thought about what he said, ". . . there is an underlying given." That "given" was exactly how I was going to solve this problem.

Even though my ego was practicaly maimed, I refused to believe that I could not be Good at chemistry as well as physics. I just didn't believe it, not to mention now it became strategy and competition with myself. Physics is solving equations. I'm a thinker folks and I needed to solve this equation too. It dawned on me that biochemistry was solving equations too if I just looked at it that way. That's how my brain works because I am a North Node Virgo, an analytical and methodical thinker. I needed to turn everything into an equation so I could solve it. That's when I first realized that the human body was one big ol' equation. "Loretta, just solve the equation," I told myself. "There is an underlying given." Equations always have givens. Givens are what you already know. Givens are the facts and there is a blank that needs an answer. If I know the givens then I would know the answer. How hard could that be?

When the next test day arrived I had devised a strategy that would assure me an A if I just remembered the underlying givens. The professor handed out the test and a blank 8-1/2" by 11" piece of paper. The blank piece of paper in these types of classes is for scratch paper. Without even so much as looking at my test I turned it over and put it aside then I started my "Brain Dump". For the entire first hour of that test, I dumped my brain on that blank piece of paper front and back. The professor knew that I was lucky number 13 as he strolled by and smiled at what I was doing. I wrote down every single thing (the underlying givens) I knew on that piece of paper. I wrote down equations, definitions, measurements and anything else that came to my mind and blocked off sections to keep my "Brain Dump" perfectly organized. I patiently, systematically and methodically dumped for an entire hour knowing I had still another hour to work my test as long as I knew my underlying givens. After the hour passed, I turned over my test, read the entire thing and took the easiest test I had even taken in my Life. Oh I got my A and the extra points! And each test after that I understood more and more biochemistry and sailed through that class like I was a chemistry major.

Who says I can't be Good at chemistry,
much less biochemistry?

Folks, when you are having a bad day sometimes all you need to do is a "Brain Dump". It doesn't matter if you are having relationship problems, financial issues, career dilemmas or health concerns . . write down your underlying givens. The givens are the facts. They are what you already know. You might also do what I call "T-ing" something in or out of your Life. You write down a big capital "T" on a clean sheet of paper. On one side you put a plus sign and other the side you put a minus sign. These are the pro's and con's. These are the facts as you know them and have experienced them. If you don't know whether to hold on or let go, then it appears that you need to see if you can "T" it in or out of your Life. In this way you can squash the negative attractions in their tracks and move toward a more positive outcome.

We are tested every single day to see if the lessons we learned yesterday hold any weight today. You can pass this test, whatever the test in Life might be. You can! I know you can do it! You do not have to repeat the same outcome. If you are sitting in the same uncomfortable place - romantically, financially, emotionally, chemically, educationally, professionally or spiritually then what you need . . . is a "Brain Dump".

WONDERMENT = WONDERFUL

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

If there is one thing that I want for each and every one of you, it is to be completely self-absorbed and selfish with yourself, in every positive sense of that statement. Seriously, if you spent half as much time 'wondering' about yourself as you do 'wondering' about someone else and then channeled all of that 'wonderment' into you, imagine how 'wonderful' you would be.

IN RELATIONSHIP PRACTICE: We spend so much time spinning our wheels trying to figure out someone else when we really should be figuring out ourselves and how WE operate in relationships. The really sad thing is we adjust who we are to what we think someone else wants because we might think they wouldn't like the real us. Then we live a big ol' juicy lie because they don't get the real us and we don't get the real them since they are responding to someone that is false. Dang! It's a huge snow-ball effect. It's not the kind of wonderment party you want to go to, do you? If you are wondering about them . . STOP! . . the question mark should be about you. The more you wonder about yourself, the more wonderful you become. You are a mystery ya' know. If you aren't mystified by you, why should anyone else be mystified by you? And if you don't wonder about you, why would anyone else wonder about you?

IN HEALTH PRACTICE: I always had a standard line of questioning with my patients. The first question being the most important . . "So how did you end up like this?" After they ran around the question a few times and blamed everyone except themselves including all of their previous doctors, then I had to pull out the big guns and just cut to the chase. I asked, "SO, how did you end up 50 lbs. overweight with muscle aches, heartburn, joint pain, foul gas and a headache?" Well, that got their attention! Folks, stop wondering what your doctor isn't doing for you and start wondering what you are going to start doing for yourself! Most of the time the doctor is trying to correct what you did to yourself! There are very few diseases, illnesses, syndromes, conditions, aches and pains that we are born with and everything else we did it to ourselves! Stop blaming the baby! Stop blaming the job! Just stop blaming! Start wondering how you arrived at that place. Answer that question and your healing will come so fast that it will make you feel and look more wonderful that you have felt in a long time. oooh Yeah!

IN FINANCIAL PRACTICE: You can apply the same wonderment question to your financial situation as you do to your relationships or health care. "So how did I end up like this?" Take yourself through each and every unconscious and ugly purchase so that you can own what you did. If you want to purchase and own something, then own what you did for Pete's sake! Folks, you have to start wondering what you did. This does not mean beat yourself up, it is merely taking ownership and wondering about yourself. What was stirring inside of you that made you do that? Ah ah ah . . no blaming! This whole newfound abundance chatter will not do you any Good unless you wonder about yourself and make some necessary corrections. I guarantee you that if you cannot handle the money you have right now, then you will not be able to handle more if it is given to you. The lesson will just be bigger. If you are 'wondering' what to do about your current financial situation, then show God how wonderful you are at handling what you have right now and then watch wonderful things happen as a result.

Folks, this website is on purpose. It is deliberate. It is an intentional attempt to push you in the direction of wondering about yourself and enjoying what you find. It is full-throttle-agape-mode that is all about you. I receive hundreds of new e-mails a day and they all seem to begin with the same two phrases. 1) I stumbled on to your website and 2) I accidentally found your site. Well, no you didn't. No one stumbled on to this site or accidentally found it. I think most of you found this site because you were wondering about you and through your googling-wonderment you landed on this page. The secret behind this website is that it is only about you. Assume that I am talking to YOU! I was just telling "H" (Virgo) on the phone this morning that I am just mystified by me. I'm fascinated by me. I'm curious about me. I don't mean that in a pompous egotistical way. I just wonder why I do the things I do. (So does my daughter Karmen but that's another nut to crack.) I laugh thinking about me and the confusion that I cause me. I seriously wonder, why did I do that? Still, I can't help but wonder . . . what wonderful things will I learn as a result of wondering more about me today.

If I Could Have Anything

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

I probably enjoy great conversation more than anything. And I'm perfectly fine with comfortable silence rather than filling in the sounds of silence with nothing meaningful. As Christine (Aquarius) and I (Gemini) were driving back from Kansas City on Sunday, we had several bouts of comfortable silence without even so much as the radio playing. We saw a beautiful red tail Hawk at one point and chatted about that for a little while and then back into silence we went. Then somehow we dived into word comparisons and the difference between two similar but different words.

I suppose we were probably talking about our Boston (Legal) Marathon weekend when Christine asked would I rather be fair or just. She remembered this being one those questions on the Myers-Briggs personality test. As you may recall the Myers-Briggs test is a personality questionairre used to identify certain psychological differences between individuals. Interestingly enough in the psychology community many skeptic professionals in this field see the Myer-Briggs test as nothing more than The Forer Effect which is also named The Barnum Effect, meaning step right up, we've got something for everyone. Incidentally, astrology is also seen as The Forer Effect because there are enough generalizations to apply to a wide group of people. Well yeah, I agree if you are generalizing a horoscope for an entire population of people all over the globe but not a Natal Chart because that is Exact-a-Mundo! But I digress . . .

Anyway, so Christine asked would I rather be fair or just. I thought for a couple of seconds and said, "I would rather be just, like King Soloman because if I am just, I also have wisdom." Christine and I both acknowledged that what is fair is not always just. We talked about how King Soloman played "fair," which resulted in him being "just" in all of his fine wisdom when he ordered that an infant baby be split in half between two women. One claiming to be the mother and the other one being the biological mother. The biological mother spoke up and said, "Pray, give her the child. I beg you, do not kill it." But the other woman's face remained hard. "Let it be neither mine nor yours," she said, "divide it as the King has ordained." Then Solomon arose, and pointed to the first woman. "The child belongs to her," he said. "Give her the child, and do not kill it. She is its mother." Then word of this judgement spread throughout Israel, and people marvelled at the wisdom of the King. 1 Kings 3:16-28

If I could have anything in the world,
I would want wisdom just like King Soloman.

One night early in his reign, God came to Solomon in a dream. In the dream, God told Solomon to ask for something, anything he wanted. He did not come to God standing in his ego. He came to God to be 'in service' and he was humbled. He told God about the great responsibility involved in governing God's people, and he asked for wisdom sufficient to do the job. God was pleased with Solomon's request. Soloman could have asked for anything he wanted such as wealth, political ambition or military security, long life or fame, but instead he asked for the wisdom to carry out the responsibilities God had given him. God promised he would give Solomon exceptional wisdom, unlike anyone else before or after him. God was so pleased that He also gave him those things he hadn't asked for — wealth, respect, security. God kept his promise because King Solomon's wisdom is legendary. King Soloman is the author of 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs. In his time he was the acknowledged expert in botany and biology.

I remember when I was piled down on the floor in a heap of mess when I didn't know what to do with my Life after I closed my clinic and pursued the Life I have now. I was completely out of money, food and a place to live. I was certain I hadn't made a mistake to close the clinic but then again, I was certain I had made the biggest mistake of my Life. Still, I wanted to write this website, a book series and have a radio show that reached global proportions. I had stuff in my heart to say and I needed to know how to say it to a world-wide audience. I distinctly remember praying outloud through sobs and tears asking God to grant me wisdom like King Soloman to know what to do and what to write to the masses of people. I too recognized the great responsibility when influencing the lives of so many people. If only I had wisdom like King Soloman I could make a decision about all of it because I was stuck in "no decision" mode. If only I had wisdom like his then I would make the right choices and everything else would fall into place according to God's will. And if I left everything up to God's will, then I wouldn't have a worry in the world.

Folks, I do feel as though God granted me wisdom to say what I need to say and what needs to be said. To what degree, I don't know. But one thing I do know is that I am listening and responding to the DLGs (Downloads from God). I can honestly say that there is nothing more in Life that I want more than wisdom. I would not choose money, a romantic relationship, success or anything else over having wisdom. No way, no how! At the same time, I know that if I have wisdom, then I am making Good choices, so why worry about not having any of those things if I have wisdom. Folks, when you pray for anything, make certain that you ask for the wisdom to know the difference between your choices.

BOSTEN (LEGAL) MARATHON

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

I kept telling myself after the camping trip a week ago in Steeleville, Missouri with the gang that I was going to spend the next weekend alone. I had all Good intentions to stay home, paint the windows black, lock the doors and then just veg-out all weekend alone watching one movie after another. It's been a summer of constant travel, fun and adventure so a weekend alone was sounding pretty dang Good. Even though I was looking forward to veging-out and not doing much of anything remotely productive, I was still kicking around the invite of going with my daughter Karmen to her grandparents farm (my first husband's parents) for the weekend in Illinois. A fishing expedition and nature for me is like dangling a piece of chocolate in front of a chocoholic. I do Love and enjoy the company of my first in-laws and the thought of sitting on the dock and veging with a fishing pole in my hand was all too tempting. But then again, my grandson Big Tree and I had just come back from a four day weekend down in Steeleville camping and fishing with the gang. I told Karmen I was going to pass and just stay home and watch movies.

As the weekend drew nearer, the thought of staying home was sounding less and less appealing. I was also thinking, "What would Steve Fossett do?" Karmen (Leo) had already changed her plans and Christine (Aquarius) had previously invited me to go to Kansas City with her to visit her two daughter's who are in college. So I e-mailed Christine on Thursday and said, "I'M IN!" About 12:30 PM on Friday we set out on the road trip going from one side of the state to the other. Interestingly enough, my dad and my paternal grandparents (may God rest my grandparents souls) are from Kansas City and I was born there. So needless to say, Kansas City is old stompin' grounds for me.

Even though I had really looked forward to staying home for once and curling up on the couch, there I was, leaving again. Christine and her children (actually her entire family) are Boston Legal addicts. Boston Legal is a show on ABC starring William Shatner, James Spader and Candice Bergen about a law firm. In fact, Christine has four children - two girls in college, a son who is a fireman and her eldest daughter is an attorney. Within an hour of arriving in Kansas City, the four of us - me, Christine, Laura and Marie were all curled up on the couches with three dogs - their two great danes and Christine's Australian Cattle Dog watching Boston Legal shows on DVD. We surfaced one time long enough to run out and eat Mexican food and then rushed back to the house to grab our spot on the couch.

We watched one Boston Legal episode after another and on into the wee hours of the night. It truly was our own Boston Marathon. No sooner were we up the next morning that we were loading another episode in the DVD player. Before breakfast, during breakfast and after breakfast we watched one episode after another. We did manage to get up long enough to go play tennis with Laura and Marie. Geez, they were serious. They had the cute little white outfits and everything. It was a little intimidating but I think they were a little surprised when they saw Christine and I had a game style of our own. It wasn't that pretty but it was still effective. As it turns out we can still lunge, reach, run, dive and hit the ball with a vengence. And what's up with the Love, 40, 20, Deuce thing. Why don't they just keep score - 1, 2, 3, 4 and be done with it?

After the racquetball style tennis match, it wasn't long before we were right back in our pajama pants and curled up on the couch settling into the Boston Legal Marathon weekend. Sunday morning, we did the same thing up until the minute we went out to lunch and it was time for us to head out. It is interesting that what I really wanted to do this past weekend was veg-out and just watch movies the entire time and that is exactly what I did. Some people say that sometimes God says, "No" and that there are unanswered prayers. Well I for one think that is a ridiculous thought and even more a ridiculous statement because that would go completely against Scripture. Unanswered prayers? I just don't believe that God does not listen to and answer our quiet secret desires and prayers. I believe that we are the ones that say, "No". God provides us with opportunities and answers that reflect our heart's desire because God knows our heart. Now granted sometimes the prayer or desire may show up differently than we expected and thank God for that, but it still shows up.

How many of you are in Love with someone who is not showing you Love in return? You pray to God about this person even though the relationship feels bad. God knows your heart. God also knows if that particular person is Good for you or not. If God places another Mr. or Miss Wonderful in front of you who is clearly better for you, the chances of you seeing that person is minimal because you are saying, "NO! I want that person over there!" He is answering your prayer regarding Love and relationships and responding to your heart's desire; you may just be refusing to see it. If that is the case, then that is your deal, not God's! That's your free will. When you are ready to let go and let God, then Life takes some pretty cool unexpected turns. This past weekend I really wanted to just lay on the couch and do absolutely nothing and that's exactly what I did. It just showed up differently than I expected and I ended up doing it in Kansas City. I got exactly what I wanted. Now why my energy needed to be in Kansas City to veg-out, I have no idea and maybe I'll never know. Maybe a conversation took place as a result of my presence that will facilitate something else. I don't know. I'm okay with not knowing. All I know is that God is a 'Yes Man' and we humans are the ones who say, "No!"

In closing, only those who have watched even just one single episode of Boston Legal will know what I am about to say . . . Denny Crane.

3 MINUTES, 3 HOURS,
3 DAYS or 3 WEEKS

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

Nearly two weeks ago when I was preparing to leave for Las Vegas I realized that I needed help. I had more than my usual two bags (small suitcase and computer bag); this time I had an additional smaller bag that I needed to pack. Hey! A girl's gotta have an assortment of stylin' shoes in Vegas! Otherwise, I'm probably the lightest traveler you will ever meet. All of my friends were at a big fund-raiser at church (just a block away) and I had more to carry than what would have been comfortable to walk six long city blocks to the train station in 100 degree heat. I thought about just calling a cab but then I thought, "I'll just knock on Kate's door and see if she'll take me to the train station."

Kate is a neighbor, an acquaintance, a TV producer, super intelligent and a really nice gal. I wouldn't call Kate and I friends because we don't share any secrets, war stories or seek each others advice, suggestions or opinion. I'm certain you know the difference between an acquaintance and a friend. Well, I am of the mindset that if I need help, then I'm asking for it! I shed my silly pride several years ago when I ran out of food and couldn't pay rent, so I have no problem asking for a little help now and then. Kate lives in my building so I went upstairs and asked if she would run me to the train station in a couple of hours. She seemed more than happy to do it. I figured Kate would do it, but she honestly and genuinely seemed "pleased" to do it.

After Kate and I buckled in and she was pulling away from the curb, she said, "I'm really happy to do this for you and this gives me a chance to repay some karma." Kate told me about earlier in the day she had a friend that needed a ride and that she didn't even offer a ride to her when she needed it. Kate just wanted to come home and take a nap. When I knocked on her door, Kate had been taking 'that' nap and I woke her up. We both giggled at the set-up by the Universe and how she was given the chance to pay back the karma through me. We also talked about what would be the likely scenario if she would have turned me down. Maybe her car would have broke down or maybe she would have been in need and not had her call returned. Who knows?

I told Kate about this little time line that I go by in order to thrust myself into action. Once I realize change needs to occur or karma needs to be repaid, whether that be changing a light bulb, changing my attitude or asking for forgiveness, I give myself 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 days or 3 weeks to make that change. And yes, I really do change a light bulb within 3 minutes of it burning out. And I do my best not to let anything go beyond 3 weeks. I'm pretty much a 3 minute/3 hour girl. If I need to clear, clean or clarify anything, I do it within my self-allotted time line. Interestingly enough, Kate was right in the midst of clearing her karma within 3 hours of the onset. Don'tcha just Love this stuff?

RELENTLESSLY PURSUING THE RELENTLESS

AudioOsiyo or 'Siyo [Hello in Cherokee]

I have mentioned several times through this Daily Message how much I Love and admire Steve Fossett. If anyone ever asks who I admire MOST in this day and age I always say, "Naturally, The Relentless Pioneer and Pursurer of Adventure Himself, Steve Fossett!" Just in case you don't know, Steve Fossett is the first person to fly solo around the world in a hot air balloon and has broken numerous flight records. The news of Steve Fossett missing in his plane in the Nevada mountains comes as a severe blow and shock to me. In fact, it just leaves me with a large lump in my throat and watery eyes, that's how much I truly Love and admire Steve Fossett. I absolutely enjoy hearing and reading about relentless people, I suppose because I see myself as being a relentless pursurer of adventure and relentlessly living my Life too. Steve Fossett represents the type of person who I would like to walk in their footsteps. Steve Fossett is self-made in every sense of the word who is incredibly intelligent and has a generous and philanthropic spirit. I just Love that man! This is painful for me to watch and accept about him, so I can't imagine how his family and friends must feel.

The first time I mentioned Steve Fossett on this website I said, "Try is actually an 'attempt' but it is not success. Let's not sugar-coat the word 'try'. We have to push past the attempt in order to reach success. That is why you have to be relentless in your pursuit. If you are not going to be relentless then why should the Universe take you seriously and give you what you desire if you are just going to try? Certainly, you may undertake an endeavor (and that's real nice), but you still do not 'have to' push yourself to overcome or succeed. I Love the word 'relentless' because it does not get tired. Think of Steve Fossett . . he's relentless! Lance Armstrong . . he's relentless! Ellen MacArthur . . she's relentless! Jennifer Lopez . . she's relentless! Warren Macdonald. . he's relentless! Think about the relentless personalities in your own Life. Those who overcome illness, tragedy and destruction. They are relentless."

Steve, Lance, Ellen, Jennifer and Warren just rock my world with shock and awe! Steve Fossett and I have something in common, we both have Venus in Aries in our Natal Charts right up there in our 10th house of career, recognition and public image. Venus in Aries represents the pioneer and the adventurer. He IS a pioneer and that's what I want to be too. I don't know how it will show up, but I know I will do it too. I keep thinking one day, some how, some way, I will receive the Nobel Prize for Physics but I have no idea what I will pioneer in order to manifest that dream but I'm workin' on it! Steve Fossett succeeded at one goal and then created another goal to overcome, which proved what the human spirit can dream and accomplish by merely being relentless. He IS relentless! He IS a been there, done that, type of man and I Love that! He reaches a goal and moves on to the next one. Steve Fossett lives his Life deliberately, purposefully, openly, spiritually, emotionally, romantically and passionately. May God Bless Steve Fossett, his family and the search team who is relentessly pursuing, the relentess. I Love ya' man!
