WHAT IS A YOD IN AN ASTROLOGY CHART?

Notice the YOD in the chart below for Martha Stewart. The sextile and trines lines are BLUE. Sextile lines are BLUE DASHED lines and trine lines are BLUE SOLID lines. The RED lines are squares and quincunx's. The squares are RED SOLID LINES and the quincunx's are RED DASHED LINES. The oppositions and semi-squares are GREEN LINES.

A "Yod" is a triangular pattern in an astrology chart, which consists of 3 connecting points. It is an isosceles triangle with two long equal sides and a short side. The triangle has two 150 degree angles (quincunx) and one 60 degree angle (sextile). The triangle is pointing directly at something, which astrologers refer to as "The Finger of God," because it is a direct indicator giving the chart-holder a clue. The "yod" or "yud" is named for the 10th letter of the Hebrew alphabet which means, "Finger of Yahweh."

View the Yod in: Martha Stewart's Chart below. It's pointing directly at her Moon in Sagittarius in her 2nd house. It's saying, "USE YOUR MOON IN SAGITTARIUS IN YOUR 2ND HOUSE OF MONEY!" Sagittarius is "global and foreign affairs" and Martha certainly is global. Ten bucks says she will be bigger and better than ever and even more global when it comes to money, but at the same time, twenty bucks says she had better be careful when it comes to money because this 'Yod' tells her DO NOT get yourself in trouble. Be careful!!!

UPDATE 2004 - Martha Stewart should have read that paragraph about her Yod because he went to prison for conspiracy to obstruct an agency proceeding, and it was all about money! Take a look at her Saturn in Taurus (restriction) and then Uranus in Taurus (change in circumstance when it comes to money). She has two (2) Yod's overlaying each other connecting to Mercury in Cancer and then connecting the quincunx's to the Moon in Sagittarius in the 2nd house that Taurus naturally rules - personal income, earned income, morals, values, self-worth, net-worth. She abused that aspect and it landed her in prison.

The "Yod" will give you direct clues to opportunities for certain action, although the opportunities can be unconsciously restricted since you are continually making adjustments in your Life. So the bottom line here is; if you know you have a "yod" in your personal astrology chart, then it is telling you to MAKE UP YOUR MIND . . . MAKE A CHOICE . . . THERE'S AN ARROW POINTING AT THE ANSWER . . . CHOOSE TO DO WHAT THE ARROW IS POINTING TO!!!

The planets involved in the "yod" are usually not compatible with each other, so the energy isn't necessarily the easiest. But again, if you look at where the "yod" is pointing, it's a direct hit. Yod's have an element of destiny in their pattern. This pattern is usually bringing forward something that is needed in order to make further progress. Sometimes progress doesn't feel that great going through it, but once the individual has moved through the energy, there is gratitude for the lesson.

For example: IF there is a "Yod" that is pointing directly at Neptune in Aquarius then Neptune is the planet of illusions, dreams, sleep, anesthesia, drugs, feeling without physical contact and psychics. It is also cold because it is so distant from the Sun. It is moist, neutral and convertible. It is also mysterious and questionable. So now what do you do with this information?

Keeping in mind that Uranus is currently retrograde in Aquarius and with the constant doubt and indecision, it would be a time to take the bull by the horns. Aquarian's motto is "I know, therefore I AM," and in order to move forward they have to bust through the illusion of doubt. Doubt is the opposite of what they "know." Uranus represents sudden changes and that would mean it would be a Good time to go with flow of change and learn from the change, keeping in mind not to be fooled by illusions.

Yod's happen all the time and sometimes there may be as many as 6 or more Yod's in one day, pointing at various planets in a particular sign.

If you have an astrological finger pointing right at you, it is begging you to look at it and find the clue. If a "Yod" appears in your natal astrology chart and depending where the "yod" is, this will determine if this lesson is about relationships, career, family, money, children, etc.
