CASCARA SAGRADA (Rhamnus purshiana)

DESCRIPTION: Cascara Sagrada is a bark that is rich in horomone-like oils that promote the peristaltic action of the gastro-intestinal tract. Therefore, Cascara Sagrada is known as one of the best herbs for chronic constipation because it isn't habit-forming. Cascara Sagrada aids in the stimulation of secretions in stomach, pancreas and liver. It has also been very effective in stimulating the gall bladder ducts and helping the body to relieve itself of gallstones. Cascara Sagrada is also helpful for hemorrhoids due to bowel dysfunction. Cascara Sagrada contains B-Complex and the minerals calcium, potassium, manganese, traces of tin, aluminum, lead and strontium.
